That is to say, a red apple absorbs all the colors except red which is the color of light it reflects ; if you add more colors it absorbs less light, making it more dull. Now, can you guess the colors of the 3 known diamonds? Now, do we know which gems served which diamonds or were meant to serve?
I will refresh your memory with colors:. Anyway, as you can see, the color of the gem gives us a good idea of who they serve. Fluorite and her components also are, and will be a mystery for a long time maybe forever. And finally Bismuth, that for all we know could be like the pearls, or belong to WD alone.
But with all that said… Where is White Diamond? White Diamond I assume will make the coloration of such diamonds lighter plus make them bigger. But then… where is the black color? Where is Black Diamond? Now, the next scene it appears it is a black head with an inverted white triangle new WD symbol in their forehead and the same white body:.
This is another picture of the statue, in this case we have the design of the white heads from before, but instead of white it is black, and a black body only with the gem socket from where Steven took or was given?
It might be possible that there are 5 diamonds, the 3 we already know, plus white and black or another white diamond; maybe gemkind knows about it, but seems unlikely as WD herself is treated and mentioned as 1 entity from what we know.
This might also explain why we know nothing of White, because right now, she is only one half of the former diamond, what is more, she might be the half that almost no gem has actually seen the one between the chest and the navel , likely covered by some clothes while they are fused like a cape. Ok, this is my longest theory to date, so I am really grateful if you reached up here. Seriously: Thanks! I also gotta credit the Steven Universe Wiki for most of the images. They are literally just civilians that simply encourage the diamonds into doing whatever they are doing.
This is why Yellow Diamond hates being praised by gems: there is a gem whose main function is to praise her and the other diamonds , so if she wanted to be praised she would just call a bunch of jades for that.
If anything, they would be below zircons which I believe must be near the same level as sapphires, since technically they define if a gem is being useful to Homeworld, or not. The thing is… is this a same-gem fusion or a cross-gem fusion? It was a half truth. This is also why a Ruby and Sapphire fusion counts as cross-gem, despite rubies being red sapphires, plus by Homeworld or diamond standards they are not really the same gem-type. To summarize: the jades fusion is both: a same-gem fusion and a cross-gem fusion a fusion of fusion-types!
That is to say, Garnet calls herself Garnet because she identifies as such, but she is not an actual Garnet. The same applies to Smoky Quartz and any other fusion. This was said by Rebecca herself while answering a question that asked if there existed non-fusion garnets, and was also implied on The Answer song when Ruby and Sapphire say it is someone entirely new. Ok… I believe enough time has passed to not call for Spoiler alert, but spoiler alert anyway. We got confirmation that White Pearl was Pink Pearl. We have yet to see how she became White Pearl.
Of course, and going the obvious route, either White Diamond or Pink Diamond broke her. If WD was the one who did, it was because she considered her a bad influence for PD.
But why keep her? Most likely as a reminder to Pink and all the other gems of the roles they must fill. You either do it or we make you do it. If PD was the one who did it, she did so unintentionally. Remember how Pearl told Steven to stop giving commands to Yellow Pearl because he might break her? Maybe PD broke her while asking her to not follow every single order, or while playing one of her games think Simon Says for example.
It was Pearl who ordered herself around according to the wishes of Pink Diamond:. But overall, she could imagine and think for herself, she even tried to fuse with Pink Diamond as a Rose Quartz without being ordered to although she did ask if all gems could cross-fuse and asked her if she could imagine it. This opens a whole can of worms. Now, coming back to White Pearl.
But that is not what everyone else thought. Does White Pearl still think? Could she have tried to talk to Steven in his dreams or the other way around: Steven entered her mind while he went to sleep?
But, maybe not, and maybe at the end she is given a proper burial? Yeah, that is a bit too grim for the show…. In this case of course, Connie wants Steven for his magical life, she wants that, and this is fully supported in many chapters where she is very excited for gems stuff:.
BTW, do you remember the white butterfly Steven saw on mindful education? The butterfly was there not only because of Bismuth, Eyeball and Jasper, but also probably because Steven was jealous of Jeff.
Among all the characters, the only one that did not think of the consequences of her actions at all was her. And what does she do? She defies Homeworld and drags Steven down with her.
Knowing full well what could happen. The funniest part? She was not the only one at fault though. The diamonds gave Steven and Connie a chance to unfuse, but then Ruby and Sapphire fusing into Garnet and defying the diamonds was a stupid idea in general them being on the ball was a stupid idea, but they escalated the stupid factor. Pearl fusing with Amethyst was even more stupid.
All of them know how Homeworld is about fusions, and they know first-hand how strong just 1 diamond is, and they thought they had a fighting chance in their own territory? Or a chance to convince them fusion was fine by defying them?
What did she tell Steven? She tried to do so in terms he could understand. That literally means: you are going into their territory, they accept you as one of their kind, act as one of their kind. Come to think of it, Bismuth is a great diplomat; she listened to the Crystal Gems when they told them about Steven and Rose Quartz and gave her RQ a second chance, she listened to Steven after the second time she was unbubbled after trying to free Biggs and knowing what happened to her comrades, of course , she kind of forgave Pink Diamond for lying about being a Rose Quartz, she did not want to show her face to Garnet and the others because she knew she treated Steven poorly.
Honestly, Bismuth is an amazing character. Priyanka was very strict with Connie, giving rigid rules with no exceptions, and stifling her interests under the assumption that she knew what was best for her daughter. We know that Yellow is very controlling and likes things a certain way, following the rules of Homeworld to a T, and when things go against what she feels is appropriate, she gets angry. In the first situation, Connie began to do magic stuff behind her mothers back, even continuing to wear her glasses after her eyes were healed…just like how Pink continued to act like a Diamond after her eyes were opened to the true nature of colonization and probably the evils of Homeworld hierarchy.
Barb was controlling of Sadie in a different sense: she saw what Sadie was interested in, and took it to the extreme. It became so overbearing that Sadie started hiding her interests from her mom, like singing in Beach-a-palooza. In fact, when being scolded by Blue, Pink hardly made an attempt to argue, but when Yellow scolded her, Pink lost her temper right back. Plus, she understood how important the humans were to Pink, even though they served no purpose to Homeworld. Of course, this behavior would have the opposite and effect and make Pink resent being a Diamond even more.
She probably started hiding her interests until they manifested in to a secret identity: Rose Quartz. Probably not, but I gotta consider all the possibilities. In fact, it was. I got to say, this theory seems to be even more likely now that we finally met White… Congratulations :D!
Another possibility is that White Pearl was supposed to belong or belonged to Pink Diamond, but White at some point decided to give her her Pearl Crystal Gem Pearl , and kept this other pearl.
White took her other pearl as a way to remember her, but pained her too much to see her pink coloration and decided to rectify that. It might even explain why Blue and Yellow Diamond are afraid when seeing her: they saw in person what she did to that pearl, so they are not afraid of her, but rather to what happened to her. How many perfectly adequate gems did you have us ruined? She is responding to the news that instead of killing all gems she and BD and WD only corrupted them. BUT the thing is the Diamonds had the intent of killing all gems on Earth, no matter if they were adequate or not.
They did not care. So what gives? Also, Centi let Steven know, through drawings, some seasons ago, that she was furious with the Diamonds and what they did. Yellow does not like to be praised nor does she like to waste time. The diamonds probably care for their gems, not on the same way as Pink Diamond did though, but more on the utilitarian side. After all, creating a gem takes resources, time, and possibly some training yeah, Amethyst knew she was a warrior, but according to Jasper, she lacked training; so even though they are born knowing what to do, they are not really experts at what they are supposed to do.
Centi, and any other corrupted gem, is likely unable to access their memories to the full, even after they are healed. Ok, you probably are fed up from me and White Diamond, but another leak came out with her whole design and I just have no words or actually, have too many words.
I am not going to show the image nor say much, but I will describe it for you to see if you can figure out how she looks like before she appears in case you want to be spoiled or to see if you click a light-bulb in case you are already spoiled like me :. Keep reading. I gotta say: I was right! Well, kinda.
As much as I dislike Pink, I gotta give her that. And supposedly every gem of the rebellion loved her, even Bismuth, which trusted her enough, to show her the Breaking Point among the first if not the first gems, heck, Bismuth even gave her a chance as Steven despite knowing she stabbed her in the back quite literally. But her body is the most important part: she is very skinny, unlike all rubies we have seen which are very bulky looking, so she is likely not a ruby.
